A FORMER Republican staffer was found hogtied with multiple cuts and “Trump w***e” scrawled on her stomach – before the case took a shocking twist.

Natalie Greene claimed she was violently assaulted by thugs in a politically motivated attack.

When cops rushed to the scene, they found Greene screaming and crying with dozens of cuts on her body.

Her hands and legs were hogtied with zip ties, with political slurs written on her body with a black marker: “TRUMP W***E” was written on her stomach and “Van Drew is a racist” on her back.

Investigators also revealed that Greene claimed the men who allegedly attacked her threatened to shoot her.

She said that the alleged attackers cut her body and up and scribbled those messages.

She told authorities she was held down while the men cut her and wrote on her body in Egg Harbour Township, New Jersey.

But in a horrifying twist, the Department of Justice (DOJ) alleges Natalie Greene staged the attack and paid someone $500 to slice dozens of cuts into her body.

She has been charged with conspiracy and making false statements to law enforcement in a staged political stunt.

Prosecutors said that on the night of July 23, Greene paid an accomplice – a woman who has not been named in the original complaint – frantically called 911 to report a violent crime.

They also claim that two days before the fraud assault, Greene drove to Pennsylvania and paid a body-modification artist she found on Instagram $500 to get those cuts.

She is even said to have provided the artist with a design she wanted gouged into her flesh, the New York Post reports.

Investigators later found the location of the tattoo/body modification parlour in her phone – and discovered a Reddit profile that followed pages that include “bodymods” and “scarification”.

When the feds went to the artist’s studio in Pennsylvania, they found a receipt showing Greene had paid $500 for the cuts to be made on her body, according to the court documents.

They also found that Greene’s co-conspirator had googled “zip ties near me” on a cell phone just two days before the fake attack.

The DOJ also revealed that zip ties similar to the ones used to bind Greene’s hands and feet were found in her car.

Prosecutors said that Greene was taken to a hospital, where she and her accomplice gave police conflicting accounts of what happened and provided faulty descriptions of the phantom assailants.

US Attorney for New Jersey Alina Habba charged Greene with one count of conspiracy to convey false statements and hoaxes and one count of making false statements to federal law enforcement.

She was arraigned on Wednesday in federal court and released on a $200,000 unsecured bond.

But if found guilty on both charges, Greene faces up to ten years in prison, $500,000 in fines and up to six years of supervised release. 

The case is a chilling echo of actor Jussie Smollett, who was accused of falsely claiming he had been the victim of a hate crime.

He claimed he was attacked by two white men in the street who punched and kicked him, using racial and homophobic slurs, before tying a noose around his neck.

The horrifying “attack” sent shockwaves around the world, coming at a time of racially-charged tensions and claims of police corruption in Chicago, where Smollett alleged the incident took place, and other cities across America.

But police soon established an astonishing twist in the tale, suspecting that the attack had not happened at all and was in fact a hoax staged by Smollett himself and two friends.

Now a new Netflix documentary breaks down how the scandal was exposed by a breadcrumb trail of clues, including a sandwich bag, while those involved in the case.

Smollett has denied wrongdoing and maintains he is innocent.
