Heartache as young woman, 28, dies in hospital weeks after horrific crash between car and van as investigation launched

It comes after another woman died in a crash that took place on St Stephen’s Day
A YOUNG woman has sadly died from injuries she sustained in a horrific crash between a car and van three weeks ago.
Hanna Tanasova passed away in hospital on St Stephen’s Day after she was involved in a collision on the Crom Road in Lisnaskea, Co Fermanagh on December 5.
The 28-year-old was originally from Ukraine but had been living in the Mayobridge area for several years.
She was among a number of people rushed to hospital following the crash between the Vauxhall Insignia car and Renault Traffic van but was the only one fatally injured as a result of the incident.
The PSNI, ambulance service and officers from the fire and rescue service all attended the scene of the crash, which took place at around 4:40pm.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing and the PSNI has urged anyone who may have information to come forward.
Chief Inspector Simpson from the Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our investigation is ongoing, and we appeal to anyone with phone/dashcam footage, or information which might assist, to get in touch.
“You can get in contact with officers on 101, quoting reference number 989 of 05/12/25.”

Separately, a 73-year-old woman died after a serious two-vehicle crash in Co Down on St Stephen’s Day.
Angela Feenan sadly passed away at the scene of the crash on the Ardglass Road in the Downpatrick area at around 5:40pm.
Ms Feenan, who was from the local area and well-known in the community, had been driving a black Seat Arona when it was involved in a collision with a white Vauxhall Insignia.
The driver of the Vauxhall Insignia, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital for treatment following the collision.
Police said his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
WITNESS PLEA
The Ardglass Road was closed for a period of time to allow emergency services and investigators to carry out examinations at the scene.
But the road has since fully reopened to traffic.
Police are continuing to investigate the collision and are keen to establish a full timeline of events.
And they have appealed to anyone who witnessed the crash, or who may have been travelling in the area at the time, to come forward.
Investigating officers have also asked drivers with dashcam footage or nearby residents with CCTV to contact police.
