It comes just days after another email from Ghislaine Maxwell appears to confirm the disgraced royal received a “massage” at her London home
ANDREW Mountbatten-Windsor “had consensual sex” with an employee of Jeffrey Epstein, according to an email sent to the paedophile financier.
Landon Thomas Jr warned Epstein he must ditch the former Prince as he appeared to claim their public relationship was “keeping the story alive”.
Andrew has always denied having any knowledge of Epstein’s heinous sex crimes despite their friendship.
The private email exchange was released as part of the latest tranche of documents related to the Epstein case.
Thomas Jr, a former New York Times reporter, is believed to have been close friends with Epstein who was found dead in jail in 2019.
The late financier had been messaging the reporter suggesting an ex girlfriend who travelled with him may be able to exonerate him from the serious sex charges he was facing.
Responding to an email from Epstein in January 2015, Thomas Jr wrote: “I think the big issue is separating yourself from Andrew.
“I mean, I can see why a statement might help in some way – but it’s Andrew [not Clinton and the rest] that is keeping the story alive.”
Clinton appears to refer to former US president Bill Clinton.
He has never been accused of any wrongdoing and has strongly denied any knowledge of Epstein’s sex trafficking crimes.
Thomas Jr goes on to say: “Until you are able to come forward and address that, the story lives on.
“I mean in the end he had consensual sex with [redacted]. And [redacted] worked for you. The rest is atmospherics.
“You have moved on! People don’t know that and can’t accept that unless you say as much.”
In wake of the emails, Thomas Jr was approached by The Telegraph for comment.
He claimed Epstein never explicitly said Andrew had sex with the employee.
Instead, the content of the emails was simply him repeating what he had read.
Thomas Jr added: “When I say that he had sex with her, consensual sex, that’s just what I had read in the press.”
It comes just days after another email from Epstein’s socialite madam, Ghislaine Maxwell, appears to confirm the disgraced Royal received a “massage” at her Belgravia home in London.
Maxwell is currently serving time in a US jail for sex trafficking.
The former Duke of York is among the biggest names associated with Epstein.
He first came under fire after Virginia Giuffre – a woman who was trafficked by Epstein – alleged she had sex with Andrew on multiple occasions.
Virginia was just 17 years old at the time of her claims.
Despite repeatedly fighting against the accusations for years, Andrew was again named in Virginia’s posthumous book where she spoke about her experiences with Epstein.
King Charles viewed the latest string of claims against his brother as far too great to ignore.
He completely stripped him of his royal titles last month.
Andrew is now under mounting pressure to appear before US Congress.
Earlier this month, members of Congress sent a dramatic letter summoning him to finally explain his “long-standing friendship” with Epstein.
The disgraced former royal was told that members have a “suspicion that you may have valuable information about the crimes committed by Mr Epstein and his co-conspirators”.
He is under no legal obligation to actually follow the order and fly to Washington.
Peter Mandelson, the UK’s ambassador to Washington, was also sacked from his role a few weeks earlier after files showed he had called paedophile Epstein his “best pal”.
It comes as an extensive new batch of files related to Epstein’s crimes are set to be released within the next 30 days.
On Tuesday, the US Senate unanimously approved the official release of the files trove just hours after the House of Representatives.
The bill is now waiting to be signed off by Donald Trump so they can be released to the world.
