Leinster and Ireland star announces Christmas engagement to longtime girlfriend with wholesome photobooth pictures

Jimmy O’Brien’s teammates and their partners congratulated the couple
JIMMY O’Brien has announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Zoe.
The married couple-to-be took to social media to make the announcement, sharing a wholesome photo strip picture with a caption simply featuring heart and ring emojis.

The engagement ring was the centerpiece of most of the photo booth snaps with the happy couple making a wide array of facial expressions in each photo.
Jimmy and Zoe first went social media official in 2018 but were likely dating previously.
Jimmy has had a great year in sport, winning the URC with Leinster, playing for Ireland in their summer tour of Portugal and also getting called up to the Nations Series squad.
While enjoying his time on the pitch in 2025, I’m sure the skilful back’s highlight of the year came this week.
While the Leinster winger’s rugby prowess is well known, his partner is also very talented.
The Cork native studied law at Dublin City University and is also a fluent Irish speaker.
Zoe – who has been hailed a “brainbox” by her fiancée – likely met Jimmy during her time studying in Dublin with the rugby star having attended rival college University College Dublin on the other side of the Liffey.
The couple enjoy travelling together and have visited Canada, Spain, Portugal, Italy and more together.
Jimmy’s teammates, and also their partners, flooded the comments to celebrate the happy couple’s engagement.
Fellow Ireland international Tadhg Beirne commented: “Congrats.”
Munster star Calvin Nash‘s girlfriend Ciara also congratulated: “Agh oh my God congrats guys!”
Leinster lock RG Snyman’s wife Saskia added: “Omg congratulations!”
O’Brien wasn’t involved in Leinster’s inter-pro derby victory against Munster in Thomond Park yesterday.
The 29-year-old had sustained a hamstring injury in the Blues’ Champions Cup clash with Leicester Tigers.
O’Brien was forced off after just 12 minutes and also missed last week’s URC fixture with Ulster.
Leinster’s winning streak has been pushed to six games after a shaky start in the URC saw them lose three of their opening four ties.
Leo Cullen‘s side got their revenge over Munster who had beaten them in Croke Park back in October.
A Josh van der Flier try along with a conversion and two penalties from Harry Byrne earned Leinster the hard fought 13-8 win.
