Ryan Tubridy announces Virgin Radio exit and confirms number of new roles

Ryan Tubridy has announced his departure from Virgin Radio UK.
Speaking during the last broadcast of The Ryan Tubridy Show on Virgin Radio, he said: “I will be on the move, I am moving away to different pastures, you will have a new host and you’ll be in safe hands.
“My new opportunities allow me to be home more, which I was angling for and am so happy it was able to be made possible.”
Tubridy will host a new standalone YouTube channel, The Late Show, looking back at the the lives of the biggest stars in film, music, sport and television, with journalists and authors. The show will also be broadcast on UK-based Times Radio.
The broadcaster will also host a new weekend show across the Onic network in Ireland to include Dublin’s Q102, Cork’s 96FM, Limerick’s Live 95 and LMFM across Louth and Meath.
Tubridy is also “developing” a new show for TalkSport in the UK, with further details to be confirmed in the future.
In a statement he said: “I am extremely excited about today’s news and the opportunity to work again in the world of speech radio, with YouTube channels and with the Onic network in Ireland.”
He added: “As we saw earlier this week with the Oscars ceremony moving to YouTube, the media world is changing so fast and this is an opportunity to do what I do best with the best content creators in the world.
“It is with great gratitude that I finish my two years at Virgin Radio UK, where I had the time of my life with the greatest bunch of people.
“They made me feel welcome and valued which I will never forget, but I can’t wait to get started on these shows. Here’s to 2026!”
Earlier this month, Tubridy married Dr Clare Kambamettu at Abbeyglen Castle Hotel in Clifden, Co Galway
Responding to a texter who congratulated him on his wedding, he responded: “It’s been a busy few months.”
A statement from Tubridy’s agent said the couple had been surrounded by close friends and family during the ceremony.
