RTE DWTS contestant admits ‘I should have exercised’ after earliest boot EVER as judges slate his ‘swatting flies’ samba

A podcaster was the big surprise of the night
COMEDIAN Michael Fry became the earliest contestant ever to be booted off Dancing With The Stars in its nine-year run.
For the first time, an elimination took place in week two of the RTE show rather than week three — and it was the Navan mimic getting axed.

Michael scored 23 points with a samba, which judge Brian Redmond likened to “swatting flies with a tea towel”.
He blasted: “Technically it fell apart”.
And judge Karen Byrne said: “Samba is harder for a male. You lacked freeness.”
However, Michael put a brave face on his departure, saying he would channel the DWTS experience into his comedy.
He told The Irish Sun: “This is the funniest thing that has ever happened to me.
“It was something I never thought I’d win. I didn’t exercise before I did this. I probably should have.
“I just thought it would be good to learn something new. I got to do Latin and ballroom I’ve had a full experience.
“I gave everything in both dances. I was really scared but I wanted to do it and I did it scared.”
The show opened with reigning Rose of Tralee Katelyn Cummins being awarded 28 points for a jive.

Nationwide host Anne Cassin caught her skirt in her heel performing a paso doble but still managed 18 points.

SEXY SALSA
Open-shirted Olympian rower Philip Doyle got 31 points with his sexy salsa.
