Conor McManus is officially a married man.
The Monaghan GAA star has confirmed that he tied the knot with his longtime love, Hannah Gallagher on Friday.
The news of the happy couple’s nuptials was first announced by Conor’s county team, as Monaghan GAA took to social media to share a glimpse of their wedding day.
The sweet snap showcases Conor and Hannah beaming together in their local church, shortly after they made their vows to one another.
For their special day, Conor opted for a dapper black tux, while Hannah donned a deep V-neck gown with a lengthy veil.
In the caption of their post, the Monaghan GAA team penned: “Huge congratulations to Conor and Hannah on your special day. Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter and happiness.”
Conor has been a fixture in Monaghan GAA for many years, and previously won the coveted All-Stars title three times. Hannah is also involved in GAA circles, as she is the sister of Emyvale and Monaghan player Karl Gallagher.
Conor and Hannah’s wedding day comes as he made the difficult decision to retire from inter-county football earlier this year.
Speaking to the Irish Times in January, the sports star admitted that an ongoing issue with his hip means that he is currently unable to play.
Recalling one moment where he went for a walk and ended up having to “ring a friend to come and lift me”, Conor noted: “The pain in my hip was so bad that I wouldn’t be able to make it back to the house, and that’s been going on [for] a couple of years now.”
He added: “So like, where would you be going, trying to compete in inter-county football when you can’t even go for walks? The well was dry.”
