Tributes pour for ‘charismatic and kind’ Dublin cafe owner as customers in moving gesture after dad-of-one’s NYE death

Donations have flooded in for the cafe owner’s family and staff
TRIBUTES have poured in for a “charismatic” Dublin cafe owner after his death on New Year’s Eve.
Customers have rallied around the late Shaun Bhuiyan’s, owner of the Parklife Cafe in Crumlin, family.

A death notice published on Rip.ie announced his death with “deep, deep sadness and sorrow”.
It said: “Shaun will be forever loved and very sadly missed by his beloved Mam Fiona, brothers Shujan and Simon, his most cherished son Bodhi and Bodhi’s mum Carrie.”
Eoghan O’Neill has organised a fundraiser which has raised almost €14,000 to help cover the cost of the late dad’s funeral.
He said: “Shaun Bhuiyan was a kind and charismatic soul who was loved by everyone who met him.
“He was a loving father to his beautiful son Bodhi who he loved more than anything in the world.
“His kindness shone through Parklife Cafe, a business he created, which brought together the local community.
“He gave us all many years of joy and laughter and his family and friends all miss him terribly.
“We want to honour his legacy by helping in some way towards the costs of his funeral.”
Naomi Moriarty, a regular at Bhuiyan’s cafe, has also organised fundraisers for the staff at his cafe.
Moriarty remembered Bhuiyan as an “adored father, son, brother and friend”, and she added that he was “loved by all of us in the surrounding area”.
‘REALLY HAD A PROFOUND IMPACT’
She continued: “He was instrumental in bringing the community together with his abundant energy and personality, not to mention his penchant for a prank and questionable dad jokes.
“He had a knack in making us all feel special, never forgetting a name, or even a pet’s name.
“He really had a profound impact on us all. I have no words to express the heartbreak I feel and how deeply I will miss him; I’m sure all of you are feeling this too.”
Moriarty said that she decided to set up the GoFundMe for the seven staff members of the cafe who are both grieving their colleague and friend and facing financial uncertainty.
She said”In the spirit of community, the same community that Shaun worked so hard to uphold and bring together, it would be amazing if anyone can show their support, in whatever small way you can afford.”
The GoFundMe has raised almost €2,000 with a target of €14,000.
