A young Irish reality TV star is being hailed a hero after rescuing a number of people from Australia’s Bondi Beach.
Fifteen people were killed and a number injured when two gunmen, a father and son, opened fire with an assortment of weapons.
Nathan Gallagher, from Burtonport, in Co Donegal was in a boat in close proximity to the beach when the drama unfolded.
He bravely put his own safety behind him and drove his boat close to the shore and took a number of people away from the sea.

He has posted a picture of a number of terrified people who were taken to safety on board his boat just moments after the horrific attack.
Nathan posted on social media “Brought people off the beach/water and headed out to sea. Terrifying and disgusting behaviour.”
She posted “So proud of you. You thought about people’s safety before your own.”
Nathan, who works in the yacht business, has appeared on the reality TV show Below Deck Mediterranean since 2024.
