Heartache as family of boy, 12, murdered by dad in Dublin gather at emotional balloon vigil for ‘beautiful angel’

Meanwhile, almost €15,000 has been raised for the families of the father and son
THE family of a little boy who is suspected of being murdered by his father gathered alongside hundreds of locals at a vigil for the youngster in Dublin this evening.
Family and friends of 12-year-old Oisin Reddin braved the bad weather to pay tribute to the schoolboy, who was found dead in Clondalkin on Thursday.

Oisin’s father Wayne O’Reilly, 48, is suspected of killing him before taking his own life in the shed of a property in Ballyfermot.
Hundreds this evening released red balloons in honour of the child’s love of football and Manchester United.
Friends of the boy had been invited to join his family in celebrating his life outside his grandfather’s house where he loved to play.
In an emotional post on Facebook, his family wrote: “We will be holding a vigil in loving memory of our beautiful angel Oisin.
“We will gather at his grandad’s home, a place he loved to play and spend time with his friends.
“All of Oisin’s friends are warmly invited to join us as we come together to remember and celebrate him.”
Meanwhile, almost €15,000 has been raised for the families of the father and son.
A GoFundMe, which has been set up to help both families financially, has already raised €14,940.
The organiser Lisa Kelly wrote: “In light of the tragic events in our local community I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the O’Reilly family and their extended families and friends.
“Any help at all to relieve financial pressure for the families would be greatly appreciated.”
She added: “Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far, your help is greatly appreciated.”
DAD KIDNAPPED SON
Yesterday, we revealed how O’Reilly stole €15k from a drugs gang before kidnapping his son last year.
He was caught with the cash when confronted by the Gardai’s Armed Support Unit at the Limerick City Hotel last October.
At the time, O’Reilly, 48, and his son were reported missing by concerned family members before being tracked down to Limerick.
In telephone exchanges with family members, vile O’Reilly had threatened to kill the schoolboy.
But his plans were foiled when the ASU stormed into his hotel room and rescued the boy before discovering the “bundles” of cash.
Gardai believe he stole the cash from a west Dublin drugs gang.
He was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and money laundering — but later released as cops prepared a file for the DPP.
