Barry Manilow gives health update from hospital bed after lung cancer diagnosis and surgery

The Through The Rain hitmaker was ‘terrified’ by his health scare last month
BARRY Manilow has provided his fans with a health update after revealing his cancer diagnosis last month.
The 82-year-old Could It Be Magic singer underwent surgery to remove a part of his lung just mere days after revealing his diagnosis.

He has now taken to social media to give fans a glimpse of his recovery while revealing how he is feeling.
Sharing a snap from his hospital bed on Saturday, Barry revealed he was “better today” in the caption, indicating his surgery had gone well and he is on the mend.
Fans and friends flocked to the comments section to wish Barry well and share their relief that he was doing okay.
“Thank goodness! Sending love,” said one person.
Another penned, “I’ve loved you Barry for 50 years! My heart skipped a beat when I heard you were sick. So glad to see you are doing well and recuperating.”
While a third added, “You don’t know how wonderful it is to wake up to this pic!! Been so worried about you!!!! Can’t wait to see you somewhere down the road!!”
“I’m so glad you’re doing better. Sending you the biggest hug and some prayers for a speedy recovery,” added a fourth.
And a fifth person wrote, “Thank God. You look great . . . really you do. With each passing day you’ll feel better and better. Love you.”
His latest post was the first he has shared on his page since he posted the statement on December 22 revealing his diagnosis.
At the time, Barry wrote, “As many of you know I recently went through six weeks of bronchitis followed by a relapse of another five weeks.
“Even though I was over the bronchitis and back on stage at the Westgate Las Vegas, my wonderful doctor ordered an MRI just to make sure that everything was OK.
“The MRI discovered a cancerous spot on my left lung that needs to be removed. It’s pure luck (and a great doctor) that is was found so early.
“That’s the good news.”
He went on, “The bad news is that now that the Christmas Gift Of Love concerts are over I’m going into surgery to have the spit removed.
“The doctors do not believe it has spread and I’m taking tests to confirm their diagnosis.
“So that’s it. No chemo. No radiation. Just chicken soup and I Love Lucy reruns.”
After his diagnosis was shared with the world, The U.S. Sun revealed that Barry was due to have surgery the following day and felt “terrified” about it.
“Barry’s surgery will be at a hospital in Palm Springs, near his home, and he is expected to remain in the hospital for three days while he recovers,” an insider told us last month.
“Barry is terrified,” they added, of the icon’s latest health scare.
